Boston’s Best Burgers: 3 Hot Spots to Get Your Fix

On a warm summer night is there anything better than an awesome burger and a cold beer? Bonus if the Red Sox are winning!

Thankfully, the burger and beer revolution has taken Boston by storm with plenty of great spots for you to get your meat eating fix. With so many amazing burger options in Boston it’s hard to narrow it down, but you really can’t go wrong with any of these choices.

In this post, we’re going to cover some of Boston’s best burgers, and where you can find them. So if you’ve been craving a nice juicy burger, keep reading!

The Gallows

This South End gastropub has been making the list of Boston’s best burgers since it opened. On the menu you’ll find lots of beer options and traditional pub fare but the big draw here are the burgers.

The most popular choice on the menu: the our way. This burger has everything you want, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and lettuce.

Check out The Gallows on Washington Street in the South End.

R.F. O’Sullivan and Sons

This burger joint has been an institution in Somerville (and on the burger scene in Boston) for decades. Famous for never ‘squishing’ their burgers, it means you will get a massively plump and juicy bite every time.

A popular choice is The Northender, which pairs their giant half pound burger with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. It’s the closest thing you’ll ever get to a meatball sub in burger form.

Visit O’Sullivan and Sons on Beacon Street in Somerville.

Alden & Harlow

If something is called ‘the secret’ anything, you know it has to be good. So, obviously Alden & Harlow’s secret burger has to be on the list. While this Harvard Square hot spot has been serving diners this burger for years, looks like the secret is out!

While the burger is in limited quantity and asks for ‘your faith’ right on the menu because the exact ingredients can change, you still don’t want to miss it.

Get to Alden & Harlow on Brattle Street in Harvard Square early so you don’t miss out.

So, the next time you’re struck with a burger craving, you know where to go. Order and of these choices for Boston’s best burgers and enjoy!
